At Cornell
With the graduation of Chris Donahue, Mike Sheppard is the most experienced diver on the Big Red squad.
Sheppard has shown the ability to be among the top divers in the East.
At last season’s EISL Championship, he finished with a career-high mark of 276.50, which placed him in fourth place in the one meter dive.
The mark was the highest score in Cornell history since the diving format was changed from 11 dives to six.
Sheppard continued to impress at the Ivy League Championships, where his 272.60 in the three meter dive was good enough for sixth place.
It was also the third highest score in Cornell history.
Sheppard was honored with the 2008 Diving Most Improved Award after his sophomore season.
At Maine-Endwell
Mike Sheppard was a five-year letter winner in diving at Maine-Endwell HS and served as his team's captain in 2007. He was an Academic All-American in 2006 and 2007 and was a state qualifier from 2003 through 2007 (placed third in 2007). Sheppard broke the Section IV record for the highest six-dive score, as well as breaking school records for both his six- and 11-dive scores, and holds several other pool records.
Personal
Michael Sheppard is the son of Paul and Amy Sheppard, and he has one younger brother and sister. He is enrolled in Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
