Biography
As a senior (2017-18)
• Made the Ivy League Championship lineup, scoring in both diving events.
• Placed second among Cornell divers in both events.
• Took 16th in the 1-meter and 21st in the 3-meter.
• Won 3-meter competitions against both Brown and St. Bonaventure.
• Took second on the 3-meter at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational.
• Finished in the top four in 11 individual events during the season.
As a junior (2016-17)
• Scored in both diving events at the Ivy League Championships, including placing 12th overall in the 3-meter.
• Won the 3-meter dive against Yale with a season-best 294.00.
• Had seven top five dual meet finishes.
• Competed in seven total meets.
As a sophomore (2015-16)
• Was a consistent scorer in both the 1- and 3-meter competitions all season for the Big Red.
• Named the team's diving MVP.
• Sterling was 14th at the Ivy League championships on the 3-meter platform (255.95 - No. 7 at Cornell) in reaching the B final.
• Was also 14th in the 1-meter (246.70).
As a freshman (2014-15)
• Competed in five dual meets during his rookie season.
• Picked up a fourth place finish against Colgate in the 1-meter competition.
• Had a season-best 274.05 in the 1-meter against Columbia.
Prior to Cornell
• Sterling was part of two state championship teams and a runner-up squad at the University School.
• He won an individual state title as a senior after placing third as a junior and fifth as a freshman and sophomore.
• He was named the team’s MVP diver all four seasons.
• He also played two seasons of varsity soccer.
Personal
• Noah Avi Sterling is the son of David and Debra Sterling and has two older brothers and two older sisters.
• His brother Joshua attended Cornell.
• He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
