2023-24 | FIFTH YEAR
Made an appearance in all eight regular season meets for the Big Red, including the 2023 Zippy Invitational ... began the season with a runner-up spot in the 100 Backstroke against Binghamton ... earned second overall and third overall in the 100 Backstroke in back-to-back Ivy League tri-meets against Harvard/Dartmouth (49.11) and Princeton/Penn (48.67) ... turned up the heat at the 2023 Zippy Invitational by earning 109 total points over five individual events ... took home the top spot in the 200 IM with a season-best 1:45.95 before following that up with a bronze showing in the 100 Backstroke (42.72) ... helped set two school relay records in the 400 Medley (3:11.76) and swam a team-best 43.13 shift to help clock a new Cornell best and meet best in the 400 Freestyle (2:54.53) ... earned a least a podium in all three of Cornell's final Ivy League meets of the season in the 100 and 200 Backstroke alongside setting a new pool record in the 100 Backstroke during Cornell's final home meet of the season against Brown (46.82) ... closed his Big Red career by swimming the anchor of a pool record 2:55.97 in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
2022-23 | SENIOR SEASON
Competed in six of the eight meets for Cornell including the Zippy's and Ivy League Championship...placed second in the 200-Yard IM with a time of 51.78 in meet against St. Bonaventure... also led Cornell's 400-Yard Medley Relay team to a first place finish... finished second in the 200-Yard IM with a 1:33.86 in meet against Binghamton... placed third in the 100-Yard Backstroke in Ivy League duals against Penn and Princeton... earned second in the 200-Yard Backstroke in meet against Yale with a time of 1:51.27... member of 400-Yard Medley team that broke school record with a 3:11.53 at 2023 Ivy League Championships... also won Class B final of the 200-Yard IM with a 1:45.37, ranking third all-time in Cornell history.
2021-22 l JUNIOR SEASON
Competed in seven of the eight meets for Cornell including the Ivy League Championship ... against Binghamton, he secured first in the 200-Yard IM with a time of 1:52.77. He also led Cornell’s 400-Yard Medley Relay team to a second place finish ... led Cornell to defeat Brown in the 200-Yard Medley Relay with a team time of 1:30.3 ... also against Brown, daCosta took third in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 50.38, his best time that season up to that point ... took second place against Yale in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 51.79 ... also against Yale, he placed third in the 200-Yard Backstroke with a final time of 1:53.12 ... daCosta led the Big Red to a second-place finish against Columbia in the 200-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:31.99 ... in that same meet, he took third in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 51.54 ... picked up 32 points for Cornell at the Ivy League Championship when he finished ninth, 17th, and 22nd in the 100-Yard Backstroke, 200-Yard Backstroke, and the 200-Yard IM, respectively.

2019-20 l FRESHMAN SEASON
Became Cornell’s first-ever Ivy League Champion in the men’s 100-backstroke, claiming the gold medal with a school record time of 46.52 ... runner-up in the 200-backstroke at the Ivy League Championship, posting the third-fastest time in Big Red history (1:43.55) ... runner-up in the 200-IM at Ivies with a time of 1:44.50, breaking the Cornell school record in the process ... all-three of daCosta’s individual times at the Ivy League Championship made the NCAA B Cut ... three-time All-Ivy League honoree, donning First-Team honors in the 100-backstroke ... helped three Cornell relay teams to school records at the Ivy League Championships: 400-medley relay (3:11.62), 400-freestyle relay (2:55.89), and 800-freestyle relay (6:31.25) ... broke the 400-IM school record at the Zippy Invitational, winning the event in 3:48.44 ... also won the 100-backstroke, 200-backstroke, and 200-IM at the Zippy Invitational ... all four of daCosta’s winning times at the Zippy Invitational marked a meet record, pool record, and made the NCAA B Cut ... secured a trio of victories in the 100-backstroke, 200-backstroke, and 200-IM in Ivy League duals against Columbia and Yale ... swept the 100- and 200-backstroke events in a dual meet matchup against Brown ... won the 200-IM and finished second in the 200-backstroke at an Ivy League meet against Harvard and Dartmouth ... picked up a pair of top-three finishes against Princeton and Penn, including a victory in the 200-backstroke ... won the 100-backstroke in Cornell’s dual meet victory over Binghamton ... finished first in the 500-freestyle and 1000-freestyle against St. Bonaventure ... in total, won 18 individual races during his freshman campaign ... cracked Cornell’s all-time top-10 list 13 times (six individual, seven relays).
PRIOR TO CORNELL
Four-year letterman and three-time state qualifier at Granada HS ... finished third in the 200 IM at the 2019 California State Championships ... placed sixth in the 100 back at the 2019 State Championships ... named a Scholastic All-American in 2016 and 2017 ... competed on the club circuit for the Pleasanton Seahawks.
