As a senior (2017-18)
• Raced in five dual meets as well as the Ithaca Bomber Invitational
• Finished as the runner-up in the 1,000 free against St. Bonaventure.
• Took fourth in the 500 free vs. both Columbia and MIT.
• Raced in three individual events at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational.

As a junior (2016-17)
• Sharkey posted the 10th-fastest time in school history in the 1,000 free (9:23.65) at the Ivy League Championship.
• Also scored in the 500 and 1,650 free races at the Ivy meet.
• Had the team's second-fastest time of the year in the 500 free and the third-fastest in the 1,650 free.
• Won the 1,000 free event in a dual meet win over St. Bonaventure.
• Missed the first semester of competition.

As a sophomore (2015-16)
• Lowered his own personal best time in the mile by more than a second to place 18th at the 2016 Ivy League Championships, a mark that sits sixth all-time at Cornell.
• Also scored in the 500 (20th) and 1,000 free (16th overall) at the championship.
• Had the team’s second-fastest times in the 500, 1,000 and 1,650 free on the year.
• Was second in the 1,000 free in a dual meet win over Binghamton.
• Competed in each of the team’s seven dual meets on the year.

As a freshman (2014-15)
• One of the top distance freestylers in the Ivy League.
• Scored in the 500, 1,000 and 1,650 free races at the 2015 Ivy League Championship.
• Sharkey shaved nearly seven and a half seconds off his best time in the 1,000 free to place 11th overall at the Ivy Championships.
• His times in all three races rank in the top six in Cornell history.
• Won the 100 back in a dual meet win over Colgate, one of 10 top three individual finishes.
• Earned the team's Hardest Worker Award as a freshman.
• Won the 500 and 1650 free at the Bomber Invitational.

Prior to Cornell
• Sharkey won sectional titles in the 100 back and 200 free at Christian Brothers Academy before finishing his prep career at the John Cooper School where he won a pair of conference titles in the 500 free.
• Sharkey also set a school record at the Cooper School in the 100 back as team captain.
• A USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, he was a junior national qualifier in the 500, 1000 and 1650 free and a senior national qualifier in the 1000 and 1650 free.

Personal
• Ryan Patrick Sharkey is the son of Kevin and Kathleen Sharkey and has two older brothers, both collegiate swimmers.
• He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
