As a fifth-year senior (2018-19)

• Had the seventh-fastest time in school history in the 200 breast at the Ivy League championships to place 21st.
• Also scored in the 100 breast, taking 15th overall.
• Scored in both the 100 and 200 breast 
• Touched first in the 100 breast in a dual meet win at St. Bonaventure.
• Took home the Overall Achievement Award as the swimmer who makes significant contribution to the team in the classroom and the community.
 

As a senior (2017-18)

• Made the Ivy Championship lineup as a senior, scoring in both the 100 and 200 breast.
• Took 16th in the 200 breast with a 2:01.05, the sixth-fastest time in Cornell history.
• Also placed 16th in the 100 in 56.00 while qualifying for the B final.
• Placed third in the 200 free against St. Bonaventure.
 

As a junior (2016-17)

• Swam in four meets for the Big Red, including three Ivy duals.
• Recorded career-best times in the 50 free (23.57) and the 100 fly (54.20).
 

As a sophomore (2015-16)

• Did not see varsity action as a sophomore.
 

As a freshman (2014-15)

• Goodman was a regular competitor in the breaststroke and also swam the IM and the free.
• Was second in the 100 breast against Colgate.
• Placed third in both the 100 and 200 breast against Brown.
• His top teams ranked in the top six on the team in both breaststroke events.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Was the team captain of the 2013 public school national swimming champions at Capistrano Valley HS.
• Four-year member of the undefeated league championship team.
• Was part of two state championship teams.
• Also played three seasons of water polo.
 

Personal

• Slater James Goodman is the son of Davis Goodman and Amanda Read and has two older brothers and an older sister.
• His brother, Spenser, was on the swimming team at Harvard.
• Goodman is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
