2022-23 l SOPHOMORE SEASON
His best finish of the season came against St. Bonaventure in the 200-Yard Medley Relay where he swam the first leg for Cornell helping them land a 1:37.10 final time ... he finished fourth in the 200-Yard Backstroke on three separate occasions against Yale, St. Bonaventure, and lastly Columbia where he had his best time of the three clocking in at 1:49.85 ... competed in eight meets for the Big Red, matching the total from his freshman year.

2021-22 l FRESHMAN SEASON
Competed in eight meets for the Big Red in his freshman campaign ... against St. Bonaventure, Ercan placed fifth in both 200-Yard Backstroke and 200-Yard IM with a time of 1:56.74 and 1:58.84 respectively ... took home a fifth-place finish against Harvard and Dartmouth with a time of 1:54.49 ... finished second against Columbia in the 200-Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:50.68, his best of the season ... placed fourth in two events against Binghamton; the 100-Yard Backstroke and the 200-Yard IM.

PRIOR TO CORNELL
Swam for four years at the American Robert College of Istanbul, Turkey ... three-time national record holder (100m IM, 200m IM, 400m IM) ... two-time International record holder (200m IM, 400m IM) ... 32-time Turkish National Champion ... 24 International medals ... Turkish National Team member and Galatasaray Captain ... twice named Most Valuable Player in Galatasaray ... totaled 356 official medals nationally and internationally.

Taylan Özgür Ercan is the son of Evrim Basak and Hakan Ercan ... enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
