Biography
As a freshman (2015-16)
• Competed in all seven dual meets for the Big Red.
• Swam all four strokes in dual meets, specializing in the IM.
• Won four individual dual meet races during the season, including the 200 IM against both Columbia and Brown.
• Had the team’s third-fastest time of the season in the 400 IM.
Prior to Cornell
• Four-time county Swimmer of the Year at Potomac Falls HS.
• Was the 2015 state champion in the 500 free.
• All-Metro honorable mention in 2015.
• Earned team MVP honors twice.
• Was a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American as a junior.
• Part of four conference championship teams that finished unbeaten during the regular season each year.
• Member of three regional runner-up squads.
Personal
• William Richard Lin is the son of Paul and Helen Lin and has an older sister.
• His aunt also attended Cornell.
• He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
