Prior to Cornell
Rauch was a three-year U.S.A. Swimming Scholastic All-American at the Pine View School for the Gifted. He was named a high school All-American in 2008 and a three-year state finalist. He advanced to the YMCA national finals (2008-10) and qualified for the nationals five times. Rauch was a four-year letter winner on the swimming team and was elected team captain.

Personal
Martin William Rauch is the son of Marty Jr. '86 and Peg '86 Rauch and has three brothers. Both parents, his maternal grandparents and three cousins also attended Cornell. He is enrolled in the School of Hotel Administration.
