Biography
At Cornell: Possessing one of the biggest forehands on the team, Smyth has a solid first serve and flat cross-court backhand. He was a semifinalist in B doubles at the Cornell Outdoor with Tongle Yu last fall. Looking to be more aggressive and pressure opponents at the net, Smyth will also look to improve his second serve and volleys. He missed much of the fall season due to knee problems. Smyth is enrolled in Cornell’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. At Bethpage: Smyth played No. 1 singles and was his team’s captain at Bethpage HS. He was ranked No. 13 in the ETA and No. 112 nationally. Personal: Brandon Smyth is the son of Mindy Smyth.
