Biography
At Cornell: Another tennis player plagued by injuries last fall, Schlappig showed great determination in winning the C singles at the Cornell Fall Invitational, but injured a foot during the finals. After a month off for the injury, he finished the semester at the Penn Classic. Always a consistent performer for the Red, Schlappig took out players from Dartmouth, Penn and Brown last spring. He has a big lefty serve and good touch at the net. Schlappig is a student in the College of Arts and Sciences.
At Brunswick/Saddlebrook: Schlappig attended Brunswick School, where he played one year of tennis. He graduated from Saddlebrook Prep in Tampa, Fla. Prior to coming to Cornell, he spent three years of training at the Palmer Tennis Academy, and was ranked in the top 10 in Florida and in the top 60 nationally in the 16-and-under class.
Personal: Michael Brian Schlappig is the son of Arno and Barbara Schlappig. Born: 4-3-82.
