Biography

Senior Season — 2014-15
Fleck had an outstanding career with the Big Red, amassing a 40-35 record in dual matches exclusively from the top three singles positions. He broke his own program record with a sixth career All-Ivy nod. Jonathan Jaklitsch '11 was the only four-time All-Ivy League winner before him. Before All-Ivy teams were compiled (starting in 1999), All-Eastern Intercollegiate Tennis Association selections were made back to 1972. Cornell had one four-time All-EITA winner — Dave Merritt '85. Fleck is also the program's first four-time All-Ivy singles honoree, having also been named to the First Team in 2013 and 2014, and the second team in 2012. ... Fleck was named the All-Ivy League Second Team for singles after posting an 8-12 record overall and 3-4 mark in Ivy League matches. Three of those losses in league play were against nationally-ranked opponents and one of the victories came in straight sets an All-Ivy First Team selection, Yale's Tyler Lu. He was ranked as high as 96th in the nation in September. Fleck was also 11-3 in doubles, most often paired with Colin Sinclair at the No. 2 position. He was 3-3 in singles and 1-3 in doubles during fall tournaments.

Junior Season — 2013-14

Fleck became the program's first five-time career All-Ivy League winner after being named to the All-Ivy First Team in singles and All-Ivy Second Team in doubles. Fleck competed exclusively from the No. 1 singles position in Ivy League play this season, posting a terrific 5-2 record. One of the victories came against Harvard's Denis Nguyen, who was ranked 31st in the nation at the time by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Fleck went on to finish the season on a three-match winning streak. In the finale against Penn, he clinched the winning point in the Big Red's 4-3 victory with a three-set victory over Nikola Kocovic. Fleck finished the dual season with an 8-4 record. It's the second straight season he was named to the All-Ivy First Team for singles after being named to the Second Team as a freshman. Fleck was also tabbed for All-Ivy Second Team in doubles for a second straight year. He competed exclusively with Chris Vrabel in dual matches, posting a 6-6 record. Most of those matches were at the No. 1 position, though the final six were at No. 2. Fleck and Vrabel were 2-3 in Ivy League play, including victories over tandems from Brown and Penn. Fleck and Vrabel finished the season ranked 76th in the nation. ... Fleck's only appearance in fall tournaments was a USTA/ITA Northeast Regional doubles championship alongside Vrabel, The duo defeated Jason Luu and Quoc-Daniel Nguyen, 8-2, in an all-Cornell final Oct. 23 at Reis Tennis Center.

Sophomore Season — 2012-13
Fleck continued to be one of the Big Red's most reliable players in both singles and doubles, earning All-Ivy League honors in both portions of competition. He was named to the All-Ivy First Team for singles and Second Team for doubles, making him Cornell's third career three-time All-Ivy winner since the circuit started selecting postseason teams in 1999. ... Fleck appeared in all 22 matches while accruing marks of 14-5 in singles and 15-2 in doubles — the latter being a team-best. He most commonly appeared at the No. 2 position in singles, where he was 12-4 overall and 5-2 in Ivy League play. He won one of his two matches against ranked opponents, topping George Washington's 96th-ranked Nikita Fomin, 6-4, 6-3, on Jan. 26. He then ended his season on a four-match winning streak — all in straight sets — against Yale's Marc Powers, Brown's William Spector, Princeton's Matt Spindler and Penn's Jeremy Court. He was a perfect 5-0 in Ivy doubles matches, all from the No. 3 position when partnered with classmate Kyle Berman (two matches were unfinished). Overall, the tandem was 14-1 in dual matches. ... Fleck was also 6-4 in singles and 10-2 in doubles during fall tournaments. The pairing of Fleck and classmate Quoc-Daniel Nguyen started the season 10-0, with titles in the 'A' brackets of both the Columbia Classic and Cornell Fall Invitational, and a surge into the semifinals of the prestigious USTA/ITA Northeast Regional.

Freshman Season — 2011-12
Fleck burst onto the college scene by posting the most doubles dual match victories on the team while posting an even 11-11 record competing at the top two spots in the singles lineup en route to an All-Ivy League Second Team selection. He finished the season on a five-match winning streak, all from the No. 2 spot in Ivy League matches, and was just one of three competitors to appear in all 25 of the Big Red's dual matches. In his lone appearance at No. 1 in league play, Fleck took 86th-ranked Haig Schneiderman, from Columbia, to a third set. In doubles, Fleck was 12-8 with an 8-2 mark when competing with classmate Jason Luu at the No. 2 spot. In fall tournament play, Fleck was 8-3 in singles matches with a trip to the Round of 32 in the USTA/ITA Northeast Regionals. Those appearances earned him an ITA Northeast Regional ranking of No. 18 heading into winter play. He was 6-4 in fall doubles play.

He represented the Cambridgeshire men’s team for the past four seasons after captaining the Cambridgeshire junior team. With his club team, Great Shelford, he won the doubles county title in the spring and winter seasons of 2009 and 2010. Fleck also played soccer and golf.
