Biography

At Cornell: A dedicated and hard-working student-athlete, Paltrowitz is the heart and soul of the Cornell men[apos]s tennis team. This work ethic has paid off as he has improved from No. 6 to 4 to 3, and finally to the No. 2 position on the team. Last fall, Paltrowitz had a great tournament at the Princeton Invitational, beating players from Pepperdine and Yale before bowing out in the semifinals. At the ECACs, he won against Rutgers and Princeton at No. 2 in the lineup. Last spring, Paltrowitz had a 21-11 singles record and an 11-6 slate in doubles. One of the toughest and fittest players on the team, he has a powerful backhand that he uses to finish points. Paltrowitz is a tenacious competitor who will fight all day to give the team a win. He is a student in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

At Queensbury: Paltrowitz played six years of tennis at Queensbury High School. He was captain and MVP as a senior, and he played on a team that was sectional champion from 1995-2000. Paltrowitz ranked in the top 20 in the East and was 102nd nationally.

Personal: Scott Victor Paltrowitz is the son of J. Lawrence and Jill Paltrowitz and has two older brothers. His father is a 1971 graduate of Cornell. Born: 2-24-82.
