Biography
At Cornell: Competing well in two events last fall, Iyer started the season by advancing to the semifinals of the Cornell Fall Invitational before losing to teammate Andrew Hong. In doubles, Iyer and Charn Bak fought through to the finals of the B flight. At the Penn Classic, he lost a tough three-set singles match in the second round. An aggressive serve and volleyer, Iyer is always looking to get to the net. He is a student in the College of Human Ecology.
At George Washington: Iyer played No. 1 singles and doubles for three years at George Washington HS. In 2000, he won the West Virginia AAA state singles and doubles championships. He also played in the 2000 Team Tennis Championships for the Midwest section.
Personal: Sunil Ramakrishnan Iyer is the son of Drs. Ramakrishnan S. and Chang H. Iyer and has a younger sister. Born: 12-13-82.
