Biography
At Cornell: The steadiest player on the team, Yu had a remarkable 8-2 singles and 9-2 doubles record in the fall. In both B singles and B doubles he made it to the finals at the Cornell Outdoor Invitational and was the champion at the Indoor Invitational. Possessing a fantastic work ethic, Yu has good court coverage and a deadly down-the-line backhand. He will be looking to make his forehand a more effective weapon and will be a factor in the singles lineup this spring. Yu is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences. At Torrey Pines: At Torrey Pines HS, Yu won the CIF championships as a senior. He was ranked No. 84 in the boys 18 and under national rankings. Personal: Tongle Yu is the son of Naichen Yu and Xiaohong Zhang and has one younger sister.
