Junior Season — 2012-13
Chen was 1-1 in singles matches in the White Bracket of the Cornell Fall Invitational on Oct. 12 at Reis Tennis Center. He defeated Colgate's Nick Laub, 6-1, 6-2, in the Round of 16 before suffering a 7-5, 6-1 loss to Big Red teammate Spencer Clark in the quarterfinals.

Sophomore Season — 2011-12
Chen posted a 4-1 record in fall tournament singles play, advancing to the semifinals of the D Bracket in the Princeton/Farnsworth Invitational. He was also 1-2 in doubles, teaming with Spencer Clark to defeat a duo from Army in a non-scoring quad match.

Freshman Season — 2010-11
Chen had a solid rookie season, playing predominately at the No. 6 spot in the line-up. He finished with a 24-11 record overall, including an impressive record of 14-5 in the spring and 2-0 in the Ivy League. Chen saw limited action in doubles, but finished with a 5-3 mark overall, going 3-0 in the spring.

At The College Preparatory School
Chen played for four years at The College Preparatory School. He was ranked number one in Northern California in the boys’ 14s (2005), boys’ 16s (2008) and boys’ 18 (2009) rankings. Chen was ranked in the top 40 in the nation in the boys’ 14s and boys’ 16s rankings and was most recently ranked in the top 90 in the country in the boys’ 18s rankings.

Personal
Zhongming Chen is the son of Qidong Chen and Yin Huang and he has one older brother. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
