As a Senior (2013-14)
Custer ended his Big Red cross country career on a high note, dropping his time on the Moakley Course from 27:17.1 at the season-opening race against Army to a 26:57.0 during the Reif Memorial Run. His only other race this season came at the Paul Short Open, where he finished the 8K in 27:04.0, good for 128th place out of 516 runners.
On the track, Custer participated in two events in his final year. He took home 13th place in the 3000 at the Cornell Upstate Challenge. Outdoors, he placed 17th in the 1500 at the Big Red Outdoor Invitational.
As a Junior (2012-13)
After sitting out all of 2011 with a calf injury, Custer returned to the lineup in his junior year right away, taking 36th place at the Army-Binghamton tri-meet to open the year. He followed that showing with a 73rd-place effort at the Yellowjacket Invitational and a 142nd-place finish at the Paul Short Run's open race. His last race of the year was the Princeton Invitational were he finished 206th.
Custer competed in seven track races during the year for the Big Red, recording seasonal bests of  3:59.97 in the 1500 at Ithaca College and 15:13.99 in the 5K at the Bison Outdoor Classic.
As a Sophomore (2011-12)
Custer missed the 2011 cross country season with a calf injury.
Before Cornell
At Ballston Spa HS, Custer competed on the cross country team as well as the indoor and outdoor track and field teams. He earned the Most Improved award for cross country in 2009 and the Best Newcomer award for indoor track that same year. In addition, Custer was a member of the National Honor Society.Â
PersonalÂ
Adam Custer is the son of Clyde Custer and Eva Hoffman. He has two brothers; Ryan Custer, who is a student at Clarkson University and Connor Hoffman, who attends the University of Albany.Â
