As a Senior (2013-14)Herring had a great senior cross counrty season for the Big Red and was one of 12 Cornell runners to reach the Ivy  League/Heptagonal Championships. He placed 93rd there, with an 8K time of 26:27.3. His other races include 15th at the season-opener against Army, 306th place at the Paul Short Invitational and 127th place at the Princeton Invitational. He was also the first of 12 Big Red runners to finish at the Reif Memorial Run and placed 9th overall with his season-best time of 25:10.5 on the five-mile course.
Herring added one performance on the track, concluding his career at the Robert J. Kane Invitational. He competed in the 3000, posting a time of 9:04.65 to take 7
th place.
As a Junior (2012-13)Herring found his way into the Big Red's top 12 for most of the 2012 cross country season. Most notably, he improved on his Heps performance in his sophomore season with a 65th-place showing. Herring began his year finishing 10th place at the Army-Binghamton tri-meet. He followed that with an excellent third-place overall showing at the Yellowjacket Invitational. He was the seventh Cornell runner at the Paul Short Run, taking 74th place overall. And he was again Cornell's seventh runner at the Wisconsin Invitational.
On the track, Herring lowered his personal best in the 3K by more than 21 seconds when he ran 8:58.23 at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational in early February. He also set a new personal record in the 5K when he ran 14:54.28 at the Bison Outdoor Classic in April.
As a Sophomore (2011-12)Herring began his sophomore year with a 50th-place finish at the Colgate Invitational, then took 100th place at the much larger Paul Short Invitational. He saw his highest placing of the year at the Yellowjacket Invitational, where he came in 16th place. His solid running earned him a spot at the Heptagonal Championships, where he came in 79th place.
Before CornellAndrew was a Boston Globe all-scholastic team member in cross country and received All-Northeast honors at the footlocker northeast championship as a senior. He earned three letters in both cross country and track and field
PersonalAndrew Pendleton Herring is the son of Bill and Cinnie Herring and has one older sister. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences
