Biography
At Cornell: Bruce showed exceptional talent and range as a freshman. He opened the cross country season as the No. 2 runner, racing to a 25:25 at Van Cortlandt Park in just his second five-miler, but was subsequently brought down by illness that ended the season. He rebounded to post the team[apos]s top indoor mile and narrowly missed the freshman record, but still managed to score at the indoor Heps. Bruce serves as an inspiration to his teammates and his uncompromising attitude will be a motivating force for his teammates in 2003. Outdoors, he demonstrated his tremendous abilities as he raced to a time of 3:51 for 1500, equating to a 10-second improvement over his high school best.

At Harwood: A six-time Vermont state champion, Bruce had an outstanding career at Harwood Union HS. He was twice named to the All-New England squad and holds the 1500-meter state record.
Personal: Bruce Joseph Hyde is the son of Bruce Hyde and Katy McHuron and has two younger brothers.
