As a Sophomore (2013-14)Rhodes was a major contributor in the throwing events in his second season. He posted a career best weight throw of 64’ 10.5” in a 1
st place finish at the Cornell Southern Tier Collegiate Open. The following weeks he brought home 4
th at both the Nittany Lion Challenge and the Armory Collegiate Invitational. He marked a career best shot put of 47' 3.5" to finish 7th, while also adding a 1st place finish in the weight throw at the Deneault Memorial. He wrapped up his indoor season on a high note at the Indoor Heps, posting a 63’ 4” to take 1
st place in the weight throw. Outdoors, Rhodes participated exclusively in the hammer throw. He marked a career best 186’ 3” in a 7
th place finish at the Penn Relays. He concluded the season at the Outdoor Heps, coming in 12
th place.
As a Freshman (2012-13)Rhodes competed in throws for the Big Red throughout his first year with the team, taking fourth place in the weight throw at the Indoor Heps. He also qualified for the IC4As indoors, placing 11th in the weight throw. His personal best in the weight throw of 61' 1" came at the Penn State Nittany Lion Challenge in January.
Before CornellA strong thrower, Rhodes placed fifth at the Emerging Elite Winter Nationals as a junior and fourth at nationals as a senior. In his senior year, he finished first at the Long Island Elite weight throw. He was the Eastern state champions in the hammer throw and second in the shot put. He also played four years of football as a defensive lineman and wrestled for two years in high school.
PersonalBryan Paul Rhodes is the son of Paul and Yvette Rhodes. He has an older brother, Matthew, and a younger sister, Kaitlyn.
