At Cornell: Dan showed promise as a high schooler, as he was the runner-up in the Vermont state meet, but has blossomed into one of the top long distance runners in the East. He was All-East in both cross country and indoor track in 2002 and narrowly missed qualifying for the NCAAs in the 10,000. His seventh-place finish at the Penn Relays in the 10,000 placed him sixth all time at Cornell with a 29:50, and he also ranks among the top 10 all-time in the indoor and outdoor 5,000. He finished seventh at the prestigious IC4A cross country championships and led the team of all underclassmen to a terrific fourth-place finish. Dan looks to go even faster this year, with goals of 24:50 on the tough Van Cortlandt Park course as well as NCAA times in both the 5,000 (14:10) and 10,000 (29:25), both of which are in reach.

Top Performances: 1500 meters--4:15.00; mile--4:25.54; 3,000 meters--8:24.93; 5,000 meters--14:32.47; 10,000 meters--29:50.72.

At Mt. Mansfield Union: Dan earned four letters in cross country and two in track at Mt. Mansfield Union HS. He was the Vermont high school cross country champion his senior year and capped off his career as the state champ in the 3,000.
