As a Sophomore (2012-13)
Mitchell competed in one event for the Big Red during the season, throwing the hammer 113' 4" at the Ithaca Tuesday Meet in late April.
Before Cornell
Mitchell specializes in pole vault, where he holds the outdoor school record of 15 feet along with the indoor record at William Mason. He was Academic All-Ohio after qualifying for the state meet. Mitchell was a member of National Honor Society as well as an active member of his church youth group.
