Dominic DeLuca's up-to-date results

As a Senior (2017-18)

• Competed at both Heps track meets, finishing eighth in the DMR (10:18.15) and 12th in the 3000 (8:26.54) during indoors while crossing the line in 15th in the 5000 (14:43.47) at outdoors.
• Was seventh in the 1500 (3:50.66) at the IC4A Outdoor Championships.
• Won the 3000 at the Penn Challenge (8:21.90).
• Netted seven top-10 finishes.
• Had a phenomenal final cross country season that included three top-10 finishes and an individual berth to the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
• Was also the number one runner for Cornell in every meet he ran in this season.
• Opened up his season at the Paul Short Run, taking ninth and followed that up with stellar third-place showing at the Penn State National Open.
• Continued on to the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships, finishing 15th and then cruised to 10th place at the NCAA Northeast Regional.
• Wrapped up his final collegiate cross country season at the national championships, crossing the line 216th overall.

As a Junior (2016-17)
• Continued to be an important scoring runner for the Big Red during his junior cross country season.
• Began the season with a 10th place finish at the Spiked Shoe Invitational and followed that up with a 24th place finish in the Paul Short 8K Gold Race, leading Cornell across the line in both races.
• Was 123rd at the Adidas Pre-Nationals meet and then finished 21st at the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships before going on to be the Big Red's top finisher at the NCAA Northeast Regionals (30th place).
• On the track, had a fantastic season, culminating with a 44th-place finish in the 5000 meters at the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round.
• Also claimed a runner-up finish at the Ivy League Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 5k, crossing the line in 14:16.46.
• Outdoor season was also highlighted by three top-five finishes in the 5k and 1500.
• During indoors, was 17th in the 5k at the Indoor Heps while winning the 3000 meters crown at the ICA4A/ECAC Indoor Championships in 8:06.60.

As a Sophomore (2015-16)
• Followed up his strong freshman cross country season with an equally impressive sophomore campaign, earning Second-Team All-Ivy honors with an 11th-place finish at Ivy League Cross Country Championships.
• Advanced to NCAA Division I Northeast Region Championships, where he finished an impressive 18th among the region's best runners.
• Opened the indoor track season with a win in the 3K at Greg Page Relays and followed it up with a third-place finish in the mile at the Robert J. Kane Invitational.
• Placed 14th in the 5K at Ivy League Indoor Heptagonals.
• Outdoors, posted a personal-best in the 1500 at the Bison Outdoor Classic at 3:50.25.
• Placed 16th in the 5K at Outdoor Heps.

As a Freshman (2014-15)
• Made a seamless transition to collegiate running, winning his first race as a member of the Big Red in the season-opening meet with Army with a time of 24:37.26.
• Earned First-Team All-Ivy honors at Ivy League Heptagonals where he finished fourth in the 8K with a time of 24:29.3
• At Pre-Nationals, finished 52nd at 25:06.2.
• Also led the Big Red at the NCAA Northeast Regional with a 19th place finish.
• On the track, he continued to excel, taking home first place in the 800 in his first meet and qualifying for IC4A’s.
• The performance also earned him ECAC Division I Metro/Upstate Rookie of the Week.
• Helped Cornell to a first-place team finish at the Beantown Challenge, as the Big Red distance runners swept the top four spots in the 3K, with DeLuca finishing in second at 8:24.80.
• At the Denault Memorial, finished second in the mile, coming in at 4:16.25.
• Placed third in the 5000 at Penn Relays with a time of 14:25.66 and placed fourth in the same race at Bucknell.

Before Cornell
• DeLuca was one of the top distance runners in the state during his senior season.
• He started the year by taking home 1st place at the PIAA AA Cross-Country Championships.
• He took home 4th place in the 3000 at the high school division of the Penn Relays.
• He then shattered his district record with a new personal best 9:03.54 in the 3200.
• He went on to finish 5th in the 3200 at PIAA AA State Championships.
