As a Sophomore (2013-14)
Clark-Gartner showed steady improvement in his second year for the Big Red. He posted a career best 2:02.29, shaving over 4.5 seconds off his previous mark, in the 800 at the Cornell Upstate Challenge. He also posted a career best time of 2:44.15 in the 1000 meter to score 8^th place at the Robert J. Kane Invitational. He also marked a new career best in the 600 at the Deneault Memorial, finishing with a 1:29.05. Clark-Gartner also was a contributor on the successful indoor 4x4 team, who took home top-5 honors at three events, including 1^st place at the Ithaca College Quad Meet.

As a Freshman (2012-13)
Clark-Gartner ran the 500, 800 and 400 hurdles for the Big Red during his first year, recording a seasonal best of 2:06.82 in the 800 and a 58.44 best in the 400 hurdles. He raced in eight meets during the year.

Before Cornell
Clark-Gartner comes to Ithaca with a personal best of 56.35 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles. A five-year track athlete and a four-year cross country team member, Clark-Gartner holds six indoor track school records and won three indoor sectional titles during his time at Ichabod Crane. He participate in the New York State meet outdoors in 2011 and 2012, and he also has three outdoor sectional titles.

Personal
Gavin Kendall Clark-Gartner is the son of Ralph Gartner and Jennifer Clark. He has one younger sister, Tess.
