Sisserson's up-to-date results
As a Senior (2016-17)
Sisserson had a fantastic senior season for Cornell, recording five victories in the pole vault. He was the runner-up at the Ivy League Outdoor Track and Field Championships while also placing third at the Indoor Heps. The vaulter closed out his collegiate career at the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round, taking 29th. Sisserson holds the school record in the indoor pole vault (17’ 11 1/4”) and shares the outdoor record as well (17’ 4 1/2”).
As a Junior (2015-16)
Sisserson vaulted in two meets as a junior, finishing first at the Greg Page Relays (16’4.75”) and second at the Nittany Lion Challenge (15’9.25”).
As a Sophomore (2014-15)
Sisserson was stellar in his sophomore season as a pole vaulter. He set a new school record, and then broke it two more times, eventually breaking the conference record as well. He first set the Cornell record at 17’ 3” in a first-place finish at the Beantown Challenge, earning him Ivy League Player of the Week honors. He would go on to break his own record with a 17’ 5” vault at the Sykes-Sabock Challenge and finally a 17’ 11.25” vault at the Deneault Memorial, the best vault in Ivy League history. In addition to winning the league title at Ivy League Indoor Heptagonals with a vault of 17’ 0.75”, he picked up indoor wins at the Upstate Challenge (16’ 8.75”) and Kane Invitational (17’ 0.75”). He also took the Ivy League outdoor championship with a 17’ 0.75” clearance.
As a Freshman (2013-14)
Sisserson immediately became one of the Big Red’s top performers in the vault in his first season. He took home 1
st place at six events during the indoor season, including the Nittany Lion Challenge and the Boston University David Hemery Valentine. He posted an indoor best 16’ 8.75” clearance in a 2
nd place finish at the Indoor Heps. He concluded the indoor season with a 5
th place showing at the IC4A’s. His success did not wane with the transition to the outdoor season. He scored a 3
rd place finish at the Stanford, before starting a streak which saw him finish 1
st at four consecutive events. The highlight of the stretch was a season best 17’ 1” clearance at the Penn Relays. He had a tough showing at the Outdoor Heps, but would rebound to mark an 8
th place finish at the IC4A’s. Sisserson wrapped his first year at the NCAA East Prelims, marking a 33
rd place finish.
