As a Sophomore (2012-13)
Chew participated in two meets in his second year at Cornell, long jumping in both and triple jumping at the Oxford/Cambridge meet. Chew had a seasonal best of 20' 2 1/2" in the long jump and 42' 11" in the triple jump.
As a Freshman (2011-12)
Chew took part in the long jump at the Indoor IC4As, taking 16th place with a height of 22' 3/4". In the Eastern long jump competition at the Penn Relays, Chew reached 21' 5 1/4" to take 23rd, and he did even better the following week at the Indoor Heps with a ninth-place finish and a jump of 22' 1 3/4". In the triple jump at that same meet, Chew scored four points for Cornell with a fourth-place finish and a triple jump of 47' 10 1/2".
Before Cornell
Han represented the Singapore national junior team and placed fourth in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump in the South East Asian under-20championships. He has also twice earned national honors and served for two years in the military.
