Biography
Admirand's up-to-date resultsAs a Sophomore (2012-13)Admirand had another strong season as a sophomore, taking second place in the 500 at the Indoor Heps to score eight points for Cornell. He also ran on the Big Red's 4x400 Heptagonal relay team at the Penn Relays, and he finished his year with a third-place effort on the Big Red's 4x800 relay team at the Outdoor Heps. Admirand set a new personal best in the 500, running 1:03.20 at the Indoor Heps.
As a Freshman (2011-12)Admirand made a splash in Ithaca during his first year, breaking freshman records and impressing with his efforts on the track. He came in second in his first Indoor Heps in the 800, running in a time of 1:50.24. He was also part of the Big Red's second-place 4x800 relay at the same meet. He stepped up another level the following week at Indoor IC4As, where he ran 1:49.03 and won an Eastern title. He was also on Cornell's eighth-place 4x400 and ran the anchor leg of its winning 4x800 at the Indoor IC4As. At the Outdoor Heptagonal Championships, Admirand placed third in the 800 with a time of 1:49.55 while also anchoring the team's second-place 4x800 relay. He qualified for the NCAA East Regional in the 800, making it out of the preliminary round before ending his year with a 20th-place finish in the semifinals. He was also part of the 4x400 team that won a wheel at the Penn Relays with a victory in the Heps section. He also won the team's Theodota Latas Award as Cornell's best mid-distance runner.
During the year, he broke the indoor school record in the 800 and now holds the freshman and school records at 1:49.03. He is also part of the indoor 4x800 relay team that holds the school record at 7:24.08, and his outdoor 800 time of 148.84 is the second-fastest in school history.
Before CornellAdmirand placed third in the 800 at the 2011 New Jersey Meet of Champions in a Morris County- and personal-best 1:51.45 among a field noted to be one of the most competitive in New Jersey high school meet history. He finished second in the State Sectional Group 1 800, won the State North 1 Group 1 800, finished second in the 400 and fourth in the 200. Admirand won the Morris County title in the 800, and finished second in the 400, was part of Mountain Lakes’ winning distance medley and 4x800, and second place 4x1600 at the Morris County Relays. He also earned a letter in soccer as a midfielder and defensive wing, played on a nationally-competitive travel soccer team and has a fifth-degree black belt in Goju-ryu karate.
