As a Junior (2017-18)
• Scored at the Outdoor Heps with a fourth-place finish in the long jump (23-8).
• Also was eighth in the triple jump (47-9).
• Had two top-10 finishes at Indoor Heps, taking seventh in the triple jump (48-6 1/4) and 10th in the long jump (21-11).
• At IC4A Outdoor Championships, placed 13th in the long jump (22-5 1/4).
• Won the long jump at the Bison Outdoor Classic (23-4 1/2).
• Tallied 10 top-three finishes on the year.
As a Sophomore (2016-17)
• Competed in the triple jump and long jump in 14 meets as a junior, earning four first place finishes and 15 top 10 finishes overall.
• Indoors, finished first in the triple jump at the Greg Page Relays and won the long jump at the Southern Tier Collegiate Open, Upstate Challenge and Cornell Cabin Fever Invitational.
• Had a personal record of 49’11.75” in getting second in the triple jump at the Armory Invitational.
• Finished second in the long jump at indoor Heps and was fifth in the triple jump.
• Outdoors, won the triple jump at the Bison Outdoor Classic, hit a personal record of 24’5.5” in the long jump for second at the Big Red Outdoor Invitational and then finished fourth in the long jump and ninth in the triple jump at outdoor Heps.
As a Freshman (2015-16)
• Had a solid first season competing in the long jump and triple jump for the Big Red.
• Of the 18 times he competed in a jump, he finished in the top 10 on 17 of those occasions.
• Indoors, qualified for the IC4A/ECAC Track and Field Championships in the triple jump, where he finished 14th.
• Outdoors, hit two personal bests at the Big Red Invitational, jumping 22’6.5” in the long jump and 47’10” in the triple jump.
Before Cornell
• A two-time Poly Prep Country Day track and field MVP, Seaton was named the All-Ivy Preparatory School League Long and Triple Jumper from 2013-15.
• He was captain of the team his senior year and earned the team’s Outstanding First Year Award as a freshman.
• In addition, he was a member of the Oasis Society and Cum Laude Society and was the recipient of the School Spirit Award.
Personal
• James David Seaton is the son of Charles and Giselle Seaton.
• He has a younger brother, Jaden, and a younger sister, Deanna.
• He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
