Biography
At Cornell:
Despite limited training due to commitments to the football team and foot injuries which cost him almost three full seasons, Harding has demonstrated that he is a huge talent who is a fearless competitor in the time he has been able to compete for the Big Red. At his best on relays, Harding has run a number of 1:51 splits, including one as the anchor of the sprint medley unit at the Penn Relays in 2007 and on the DMR in 2006. At outdoor IC4As, Jay ran 1:51 splits in both the prelims and finals of the 4x800 in 2007. In 2006 he was on the 4x800 team that captured Cornell’s fourth straight IC4A crown. At State College: After excelling in football, soccer and wrestling, Harding came out on three months of track training as a senior and placed fifth at the state meet in the 1,600 with a 4:15.63. Personal: Jeffrey Charles Harding is the son of Jeff and Cindy Harding and has three younger brothers and a younger sister.
