As a Sophomore (2012-13)
Braun participated in just one meet in his sophomore year, throwing the shot and weight at the Cornell Relays in December. Still, he broke his own personal best in the weight throw by two feet, throwing it 49' 5".
As a Freshman (2011-12)
Braun's big moment came in the Penn Relays, where he placed third in the college discus with a throw of 167' 5" that was good enough to be the 10th-best ever at Cornell. He continued to have success at the Outdoor Heps, reaching 48' 2" in the shot put for 10th place, 146' 7" in the discus for 11th and 148' 11" in the hammer for ninth. After a promising freshman campaign, Braun will look to improve as a sophomore.
Before Cornell
Braun placed third in shot at states, played football for three years and was a captain on the track team his senior year.
Personal
Jesse Braun is the son of Daniel and Kim Braun. He has two younger brothers, an older brother and an older sister.
