Biography
At Cornell
At the 2011 indoor HEPS Josh finished second with a new personal record of 5113, placing himself third on the All-Time list. A week later he finished eighth in the Heptathlon at IC4As earning All-East honors. His success carried through to outdoor HEPS were he finished second with a pr of 6730. This new mark moved him up to No. 3 on the All-Time list. On top of big personal records in the multis, Cusick established new bests in seven of the events in the Decathlon.
As a senior, Cusick took third place in the heptathlon at the Indoor Heptagonal Championships, scoring 5,011 points in an event where Cornell finished 1-2-3. Outdoors in the decathlon, Cusick scored 6.433 points to place eighth as the fourth Cornell finisher. He scored 5,238 points in the heptathlon during the indoor season, a score that is now the second-best ever at Cornell.
Before Cornell
Cusick was a medalist in the pole vault in 2007 and was a high school All-American in the pentathlon in 2008. The captain of his track and field team as a senior, he was also an outstanding soccer player, earning all-league honors in that sport as a senior.
Personal
Joshua Taylor Cusick is the son of Paul Cusick and Lisa Weinzler and has a younger brother and a younger sister. He is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
