As a Junior (2019-20)
• Ran in three cross country meets, including a sixth-place finish at the Reif Memorial (10/25).
• Competed in three indoor meets.
• Notched a 1000 PR at the Valentine Invitational (2/15).
As a Sophomore (2018-19)
• Ran in three outdoor meets.
• Earned two PRs on the season, one in the 1500m at the Bison Outdoor Classic (3:58.83, 4/13-14) and one in the 800m at the Larry Ellis Invitational (1:58.91, 4/20).
• Finished first in the 1500m at the Cornell Big Red Invitational.
• Ran in five indoor meets.
• Earned two PRs during the indoor season, one in the mile at the Cornell Upstate Challenge (4:34.37, 1/18-19) and one in the 1000m at the Marc Deneault Invitational (2:33.91, 2/16).
• Finished first in the 1000m at the Robert J Kane Invitational (1/26) and at the Cornell Sunday Invitational (2/10).
• Ran in three cross country meets.
• Opened the season with a 6k PR of 20:24.0 at the Bison Open (8/31).
As a Freshman (2017-18)
• Did not compete in any track meets.
• Ran in four cross country meets, starting off with a 23rd-place finish at the quad meet with Columbia, Brown and NYU.
• In the open race at the Paul Short Run, took 70th overall and continued on to finish 108th at the Penn State National Open.
• Finished season with a solid eighth-place showing at the Reif Memorial Run.
Prior to Cornell
• A strong all-around athlete, Mars ultimately ran 4:18 for the mile in high school.
• In the 600 and 800 meters during his indoor and outdoor career, Mars had four top three finishes at the state meet.
• We expect him to continue develop and use that athleticism and competitive spirit to thrive here at Cornell.
