As a Freshman (2018-19)
• Ran in three outdoor meets
• Earned a fifth place finish with a PR time of 14:36.07 in the 5000m at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival on Mar. 29.
• Finished 19th with a PR time of 32:58.61 in the 10,000m at the Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonals on May 4-5.
• Ran in five indoor meets.
• Finished the season with two PRs including one early season PR in the mile at the Sykes and Sabock Challenge Cup (4:21.85, 2/2).
• Competed in the 5000m at the Ivy League Indoor Heptagonals with a 10th-place finish (2/23-24).
• Earned the second PR in the 3000m at the ECAC/IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championships. The 8:20.47 finish earned 15th place.

Before Cornell
• Four-year member of the Somers Senior High School cross country and track and field teams.
• He earned all-league honors eight times, all-county honors eight times, all-section honors six times, all-state honors six times, all-federation honors five times, and was All-American in the 5000m in 2017.
• Fusco was a six-time Westchester County champion, six-time sectional champion, six-time NY State qualifier and four-time national qualifier.
• 2017 Eastern States 2 Mile Champion
• Personal bests: 9:06.34 for 3200m, 9:34.91 for 3k Steeple, 15:00.45 for 5000m, and 15:37.80 for the 5000m in cross country.
• In addition to being named to the High Honor Roll all four years of high school, he was also a member of the National Honor Society.
Personal
• Matthew John Fusco is the son of Alexander and Janet Fusco.
• His older brother, Alexander, was a 2016 graduate from Cornell, while his twin brother, Greg, is also a member of the Big Red cross country and track and field teams.
• He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
