Competed in five meets... set a new personal best in the 1500m with a time of 3:52.48, placing first at the Big Red Invite & Multi.
2024-25 | SOPHOMORE SEASON
Set a new PB in the 800m with a time of 1:58.82, placing fifth at the Southern Tier Invite...set new PB in 3000m (8:06.31)... set new PB in mile (4:12.39)...set new PB in 1000m (2:30.19) placing second at the Kane Invite.
2023-24 I FRESHMAN SEASON
Ran personal-best Mile time of 4:17.43 at the Southern Tier Invite, placing second... set personal-best 3k at the Dr. Sander Invitational (8:18.75)... with a time of 14:50.46, set his personal-best at the Bison Outdoor Classic... earned first place with a personal-best time of 3:55.73 in the 1500m.
PRIOR TO CORNELL
Took fourth in the 5k at Nike Outdoor Track and Field Nationals, 14:43 (2023)… PIAA District 3 Champion and record holder in the 3200, 8:59 (2023)… earned fourth-place in the 3200 at PIAA State Track and Field Championships, 8:55 (2023)… finished fourth at the PIAA State Cross Country Championships (2021)... finished 13th at the Champs Sports Northeast Regionals in 2022.

Matthew O’Brien is the son of Larry and Patricia O’Brien… has a brother… he is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
