2008-09 Men's Track and Field Roster
Biography
At Cornell: Things clicked for Crabtree during his junior season as he made good on the promise he showed coming out of high school. Determined to transform himself as a track athlete, the hard work was rewarded as he posted huge improvements in every event in 2008. Moving up to the 400m during the indoor season, he capped of the year by finishing third at the Heps and recorded the third-best performance all-time in the 200m at 21.98 and ran a strong leg on the Heps Champion 4x400m. Outdoors, his focus shifted to the shorter sprints as he came through in a big way at the Heps again, running a scintillating second leg on the 4x100m that ran 40.92 for 2nd, the fastest non-winning time in 25 years, finished third in the 100m in 10.67 and second in the 200m at 21.50. If he’s able to develop his strength levels to equal his quickness, he’ll become a major force beyond the Ivy League in 2009 and challenge for a spot on the 4x400m as well. As a senior, he’ll be looked upon to lead the young short sprint group as they try to replace three seniors from that 4x100m squad.
At Summit: Crabtree led his Summit HS team to a state title, placing in the 100, 200 and 400 meters. He was ranked among the nation’s top 100 sprinters.
Personal: Nathan Thomas Crabtree is the son of Thomas Crabtree and Kathi Dean and has two older sisters.
