Biography
Prior to Cornell
• Competed for the University of Arizona during the 2019-20 season.
• Three-time decathlon state champion in Mexico City (2016, 17, 18).
• Holds Mexico's junior decathlon national record, setting the mark in 2017 and breaking it again in 2018.
• Holds IMG Academy's school record in the decathlon and the pole vault.
• Named the IMG Gatorade Athlete of the Year, which is presented to the athlete that represents both great progress in their event as well as commitment towards being a better student-athlete and person.
Personal
• Rodrigo Escotto is the son of Ruben Escotto and Mary Tona Perez de Escotto and has an older brother.
• He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
