As a Senior (2019-20)
- Ran at the Iona Meet of Champions (9/20).
- Competed in three meets on the season.
- Placed fifth in the DMR at the Ivy League Indoor Heps Championships (2/29-3/1).
As a Junior (2018-19)
- Ran in six outdoor meets.
- Earned PRs in the 1500m and the 3000m with times of 3:51.21 and 8:53.15, respectively, at the Larry Ellis Invitational (4/20) and the 125th Penn Relays (4/25-27), respectively.
- Secured a fourth-place finish in the 3000m at the Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championships on May 4-5.
- Competed in the 3000m race at the NCAA Division I East Region Preliminary Rounds on May 23-25.
- Ran for the eighth-best time in steeplechase in program history.
- Ran in six indoor meets.
- Earned a PR on the 3000m with a time of 8:28.49 at the Fastrack National Invite (2/8).
- Competed in the 3000m and the DMR at the Ivy League Indoor Heptagonal Championships (2/23-24).
- After earning a PR in the mile with a fifth place finish in the prelims, he further improved his time for a third place finish in 4:05.63 at the ECAC/IC4A Indoor Championships on Mar. 1-3.
- Ran in six cross country meets.
- Opened the season with a 6k PR of 19:23.2 at the Bison Open (8/31).
- Earned a PR of 25:12.2 in the 8k at the Princeton Cross Country Invitational (10/12).
- Finished 34th in the Ivy League Cross Country Heptagonals (10/27).
- Secured a 10k PR of 34:21.0 and a 53rd-place finish at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Regionals (11/9).
As a Sophomore (2017-18)
- During track season, won three events on the year.
- Crossed the line first in the 3000 steeplechase at the Big Red Outdoor Invitational (9:41.45).
- Was part of two winning relays, taking first in the DMR at the Greg Page Relays (10:23.15) and in the 4x800 at the Southern Tier Collegiate Open (7:54.87).
- Had three individual runner-up finishes in the 800 at the Kane Invitational (1:57.75) and the mile at both the Sunday Invitational (4:19.93) and Deneault Memorial Invitational (4:18.20).
- Kicked off his sophomore cross country season at the quad meet with Columbia, Brown and NYU, taking 33rd overall.
- Continued on to place 43rd in the open race at the Paul Short Run and 101st at the Penn State National Open.
- In last cross country meet of the year, powered through to an impressive fourth-place finish at the Reif Memorial Run.
As a Freshman (2016-17)
- Had a solid inaugural cross country season, running in four races.
- Finished 113th at the Spiked Shoe Invitational, 115th at the Paul Short 8K Gold Race, 112th at the Penn State National Open and a season-best 10th at the John Reif Memorial Run.Â
- Took to the track in seven meets during the indoor season, focusing primarily on distance events.
- Finished fourth in the 2000 steeplechase at the Robert J. Kane Invitational (6:00.96), fifth in the 1000 at the Marc Deneault Memorial (2:35.08) and ninth in the mile at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup (4:21.28).
- Also added a fourth place in the 800 at the Southern Tier Collegiate Open (1:59.43).
Before Cornell
- In 2016, Neumaier won the 2016 New York Division I 1600 meter title and also took the 1000 meter at the New York State and Federation Indoor Championship.
- He was the 2016 and 2015 Section 6 Champion in the 1000 meter and a 2015 champion with his 4x800 meter relay team.
- Neumaier was the 2016 Buffalo Prep Talk Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year and was on the 2015 All-Erie County first-team for cross country.
- Neumaier, a member of the National Honor Society and an Eagle Scout, was the salutatorian of his class.
Personal
- Steven Scott Neumaier is the son of Kevin and Michelle Neumaier and has one sister, Jenna.
- He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
