As a Senior (2012-13)
McFall had new personal records in the 1K and the 3K steeplechase during his final year with the team. He ran in the Indoor IC4As in the 1K, just missing scoring for Cornell by placing ninth. He was also on the Big Red's DMR team at that event, placing 18th. At the Outdoor Heps, he ran the first leg of Cornell's 4x800 team that took third place and scored six points. He also had a 14th-place showing in the 1500 at the Outdoor Heps.

As a Junior (2011-12)
McFall took part in three cross country races in 2011, starting the year at the Army-Binghamton meet in 36th place. He continued with a 38th-place showing at the Colgate Invitational and finished the year strong when he ended in 32nd place at the Paul Short Invitational open race -- the best finish of any Cornell runner in that race.

On the track, McFall scored big for Cornell at the Indoor IC4As, taking fifth place and fourth points in the mile run. At the Penn Relays, he was part of a distance medley relay that took sixth place in the college section. He also ran the opening leg of Cornell's second-place 4x800 at the Outdoor IC4As, helping the team take eight big points.

Before Cornell
McFall was a four-time letter winner in cross country and a three-time winner in track and field, earning seven provincial medals. He was also named the most valuable performer in track and field as a senior. McFall also played four years of basketball, earning three letters and serving as captain every season and being a three-time team most valuable player.

Personal
William Joseph McFall is the son of Ian and Mary Jean McFall and has an older brother and a younger brother. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
