As a Junior (2017-18)
• Second-Team All-Ivy (Outdoor 100 meters and 4x100 relay)
• Runner-up in the 100 meters with a season best (10.54) and 4x100 relay (40.67) at Outdoor Heps.
• Won the 200 at the Upstate Challenge (21.96).
• Had six top-five finishes throughout the season.
As a Sophomore (2016-17)
• Was once again a standout in the sprints, becoming a two-time outdoor Heps champion in the 100 meters following a season-best run of 10.55 seconds.
• Was also a part of the 4x100 relay that took the outdoor Heps crown in 40.32.
• Additionally, was also the Heps runner-up in the 200, clocking in at 21.02.
• His stellar performances during the year helped him qualify for the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round in both the 4x100 relay and the 200.
• Overall, earned six wins over the duration of the season, notching two wins each in the 200, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay.
As a Freshman (2015-16)
• Was major contributor to the Big Red sprint squad in his first season competing for Cornell, winning five individual titles including the 100 meter title at the Ivy League Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a year-best 10.41.
• Also took second in the 200 meters at the outdoor Heps (20.99).
• Came away from the Robert J. Kane Invitational with first place finishes in the 200 (21.76), 60 (6.84), and the 4x400 meter relay (3:26.31).
• Also competed in the NCAA Division I East Preliminary in both the 100 and 200, placing 32nd and 40th, respectively.
Before Cornell
• As a sprinter for The Colony High School’s track team, Menchaca was a two-time Texas 4A District 9 champion in the 200 meters and added a district title in the 100 in 2014.
• As a senior, he finished fourth in Texas 5A Region 2 in the 100 meters and fourth in Area 9-10 in the 200 meters.
Personal
• Zachariah Kyle Menchaca is the son of Jose Menchaca and Pamela McDaniel.
• He has an older brother, Jose III, two younger sisters, Oladia and Yomarãs, and a younger brother, Morgan.
•Zachariah is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
