Biography
At Cornell
Sophomore (2015-16): Yates did not compete for the Big Red during his sophomore season.
Freshman (2014-15): In his first season, Yates rowed with the first freshmen eight that had the Big Red’s  best finish of the day at the 2015 IRA Regatta, advancing to the Grand Finals and crossing the line fifth overall. He also rowed with the first freshmen eight that took fourth overall at the 2015 ECAC Sprints.

Prior to Cornell
As a member of the Saugatuck Rowing Club, Yates won the gold medal in the men’s double sculls at the 2014 USRowing Youth National Championship. He also took a silver medal in the men’s double sculls at the 2013 Head of the Charles Regatta. Yates served as the captain of Saugatuck’s junior competitive team from 2013-14.
Personal
Cameron Michael Yates is the son of Tyson and Paula Yates and he has two younger sisters. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.Â
