Biography
HEAVYWEIGHT COMMODORE
At Cornell: Chris sat in the third seat of the second varsity boat as a junior and helped lead the crew to an 8-1 season. His boat advanced to the grand finals in both the Eastern Sprints and the Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships, placing fourth at both competitions. He is majoring in industrial and labor relations with a focus on international business. Chris is the 105th documented commodore of the Cornell heavyweight rowing program.
Personal: Chris Edward Bender is the son of Tom and Kathi Bender and has an identical twin brother, Scott, who rows at Yale. While a student at Malvern Prep, Chris was a member of the rowing and basketball teams. He stroked for the crew and earned three varsity letters. He was also a two-time national champion doubles rower. Born: 2-9-82.
