Playing Career
Hurff is a current member of the US Women’s National Indoor Field Hockey Team, and has been since February 2018. Though still on the US Women's National Outdoor Field Hockey Team, Hurff took time off during the 2019 season. So far, Hurff has competed in multiple games, including 23 international games and two international series. While a member of the US Women’s National Development Squad and a college senior, she recorded her first appearance in California during a series against Canada on Feb. 22, 2018.
Prior to joining the US Women’s National Team, Hurff was a four-year athlete at Syracuse University. While in college, Hurff was a stand-out midfielder earning All-American honors three times. While earning a total of 20 goals, 15 assists, and 55 points with 8 game-winning goals during her time at Syracuse she was an excellent student, being named to the NFHCA All-Academic Squad all four years.
In addition to playing for Syracuse, Hurff was also on the US U19 Women’s National Team in 2015 and the US U21 Women’s National Team in 2016. During her time on the U21 team, they placed 8th at the 2016 Women’s Hockey Junior World Cup in Santiago, Chile and earned a silver medal at the 2016 Women’s Junior Pan American Games in Trinidad and Tobago. While in high school Hurff was named to the US U17 Women’s National Team in 2013.
Prior to Cornell University
Before joining the Cornell staff, Hurff joined the Revolution Club team as an assistant coach in November of 2018. The Revolution club is a team for young players (U14) to learn new skills about field hockey in both one-on-one and group lessons.
Personal
A native of Newark, Del. Hurff has one older brother, Michael, one older sister, Marli, and one half-brother, Jason.
