2022-23 Men's Rowing - Heavyweight Roster
Biography
As a sophomore (2019-20)
• Rowed on the men’s championship four boat at the Head of the Charles Regatta, helping Cornell to a top-10 finish, as the Big Red placed 10th in 16:23.94.
• Guided the Cornell B 4+ boat to a seventh place finish in Flight 1 at the Cornell Autumn Classic, as the boat completed the race in 12:41.78.
• Rowed on the Cornell A 8+ boat in Flight 2 at the Cornell Autumn Classic, helping the group place fourth among 22 boats and post the fastest Big Red heavyweight time (11:13.67) of the day.
• Spring 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19.
As a freshman (2018-19)
• Rowed in six regattas as a freshman, spending time on the third and fourth varsity eight boats.
• Helped the fourth varsity eight to a third place finish in the Petite Final at the 2019 EARC Sprints, finishing ninth overall.
• Guided the third varsity eight to a second place finish against Harvard and George Washington, as the boat crossed the finish line in 5:59.50 to beat George Washington.
• Also rowed on the third varsity eight at regattas against Navy/Syracuse and Yale/Princeton.
Prior to Cornell
• Rowed in the varsity eight for three seasons with the Oklahoma City Riversport Club.
• Gold and silver medal in the men's varsity four and the varsity eight, respectively, at the 2018 Central Youth Regional Championship.
• Placed fifth in the men's junior varsity eight at the 2018 San Diego Crew Classic.
• Silver medal at 2018 Dallas SWEAT (Southwest Ergometer Amateur Tournament).
• Winner of the team’s 20 More Award for outstanding grit.
Personal
• Andrew Daniel Serven is the son of Douglas and Julie Serven and he has two sisters and one brother.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
