Biography
At Cornell
In his junior season, Ross rowed in the second varsity eight that placed second in the Petite Final to finish eighth overall at the 2014 Eastern Sprints. The crew then bested its seed by one spot at the 2014 IRA Regatta, finishing ninth overall. As a sophomore, Ross rowed in the third varsity eight that placed eighth at the 2013 EARC Sprints, before moving into the varsity four and helping the crew to a fifth-place finish at the 2013 IRA Regatta.Â
Prior to Cornell
Ross competed four years in rowing at Walt Whitman HS, winning a gold medal at the 2010 Mid-Atlantic Erg Sprints, as well as both a silver and bronze medal at the 2011 Mid-Atlantic Erg Sprints. He also placed first in Freshman Eight at the 2008 WMIRA championships and was named to the Washington Post’s all-metropolitan first team in 2011.
Personal
Jacob Harrison Ross is the son of Bennett and Alyson Ross and has one younger brother. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
