Biography
At Cornell
Brinkley rowed in the second varsity eight for the majority of his sophomore season. He helped the crew to a fourth place finish at the 2012 EARC Sprints and a second place finish in the Petite Finals at the 2012 IRA Championship. During the regular season, he helped the second varsity eight to victories over Georgetown, UCSD, Syracuse, Navy, Princeton and Yale. Brinkley also rowed once in the varsity eight, helping Cornell to a win over Penn.
At Maury HS
Brinkley was a three-time letter winner, rowing port at Maury high school. He served as team captain, boat captain, and was a Hampton Roads erg competition finalist. Brinkley also lettered four times in cross country.
Personal
John Edward Brinkley II is the son of Ty and Allison Cook and he has two younger brothers, Kyle and a younger sister. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
