• IRA All-Academic Team (2019)
As a senior (2018-19)
• Rowed in eight regattas on the second Varsity eight boat as a senior, including the 2019 EARC Sprints and 2019 IRA National Championships.
• Helped the second Varsity eight to a fourth place finish in the Petite Finals at the EARC Sprints, placing 10th overall.
• Led the second Varsity eight to a sixth place showing in the Petite Finals and a 12th place overall finish at the IRA National Championships.
• Guided the second Varsity eight to victories over Georgetown and No. 12 Penn, as the team crossed the finish line first in 5:38.97 to help Cornell to the James Wray Memorial Trophy.
• Assisted the second Varsity eight to wins over Oregon State and Marist at the Las Vegas Invitational, helping the Big Red down both teams.
As a junior (2017-18)
• Rowed in both the third and fourth varsity eight during the 2017-18 season.
• Helped the third varsity eight to a sixth place finish in the Petite Final at the 2018 IRA National Championships, placing 12th overall.
• Led the third varsity eight to a second-place finish in the Petite Final at the 2018 EARC Sprints to take eighth place finish overall.
As a sophomore (2016-17)
• Gained experience rowing for the fourth varsity eight at the 2017 EARC Sprints during his sophomore season.
As a freshman (2015-16)
• Opened his rookie campaign in the varsity four that defeated Harvard, before moving into the fifth varsity eight.
• At the 2016 Eastern Sprints, he helped the crew to a fourth place finish.
Prior to Cornell
• Rowed for four years with the Atlanta Junior Rowing Association, serving as team captain for the 2013-14 season.
Personal
• John Stuart Tucker is the son of Jeffery and Caroline Tucker and he has one younger brother.
• His grandfather, Richard, graduated from Cornell in 1950.
• His father was a member of the 1980 US Olympic team, participating in the luge.
