At Cornell
As a junior, Hills stroked the second varsity eight that won the Petite Finals at the 2015 ECAC Sprints, before taking second in the Petite Finals of the 2015 IRA Regatta. During the Cup season, he was a member of the varsity eight that beat Navy and Syracuse to win consecutive Goes Trophies for the first time since 2009/2010. During his sophomore season, Hills rowed in the third varsity eight that finished in fifth place overall at the 2014 Eastern Sprints. The crew, which entered the weekend as the eight-seed, then won the Petite Finals at the 2014 IRA Regatta to place seventh overall. Hills had a solid freshman season, rowing in the freshmen eight that earned the bronze medal at the 2013 EARC Sprints before finishing just outside the medals with a fourth-place finish at the 2013 IRA Regatta. 

Prior to Cornell
Hills lettered three times at St. Ignatius College Preparatory, earning a silver medal at the Southwest Regional Championships as a sophomore and serving as team commodore his senior season. He also played one year each of soccer and water polo.

Personal
Pierre Richard Hills is the son of Richard Milan and Laurence Marie Hills and he has one older brother and two younger brothers. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
