At Cornell
Coyne rowed in the varsity boat at the 2009 IRA championships and did a good job with the crew. A former sculler, he spent the fall of his junior year in London and it took him some time to get back into rowing form, but he should make a run at a permanent seat in the varsity as a senior.

At Malvern Prep
Coyne lettered three times at Malvern Prep. As the stroke of the crew, he led his boat to a national championship in 2003, 2004 and 2005. He served as team captain and was named his team’s MVP. As a member of Team USA, Coyne earned gold medals in both the quad and the men’s eight with coxswain at the Can-Am-Mex Regatta in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

Personal
Ryan Patrick Coyne is the son of Jim and Nancy Coyne and he has three brothers. His uncle Bob Rouse attended Cornell and his cousin Tim McEndy plays baseball for Monmouth University. Coyne is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
