                        At Cornell 
Elliott represented the US this past summer as a member of the men’s quadruple sculls at the 2009 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Racice, Czech Republic, and helped his crew to a 17th-place finish overall. Despite being one of the lightest members of the team, he pulls extremely hard and is one of the best boat movers. A versatile rower with he ability to row on either side, he has excellent boat-sense and experience. 
At North Allegheny HS 
Elliott was a four-year letter winner at North Allegheny high school, where he rowed for his father Gordon Elliott. As a senior captain, he led his team’s quad crew to a third place finish at the Stotesbury Cup, the world's oldest and largest high school rowing competition, after winning the cup as a junior and taking second as a freshman and sophomore. Elliott also posted a second place finish the single scull at Nationals in 2006, as well as a second place finish at Nationals in the quad in 2004. 
Personal 
Singen Matthew Elliott is the son of Gordon and Karen Elliott and he has a younger sister. His father was a member of the British rowing national team, while his mother was a swimmer for the British national team.
