Career Stats

At Cornell
Junior (2009):
Garvey was a first-team All-Ivy pick as a junior after hitting .399 with 14 doubles, 10 home runs and 62 RBI. She posted a .676 slugging percentage and a .444 on-base percentage while walking 12 times and striking out only 10 times in 173 at bats. Garvey was named to the NFCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region team for the first time. She set Big Red records for RBI and hits (69) in a season while starting all 55 contests, also matching a school mark. Garvey’s .399 batting average and 10 homers were second in the Ancient Eight, while her 69 hits and 62 RBI paced the league, while her 1.13 RBI per game was seventh nationally. Garvey had 21 multi-hit games, including eight games with three hits. Garvey went 3-for-4 and was a single shy of the cycle, driving in five runs against Akron. She went 5-for-6 with two doubles, three runs scored and four RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Siena and was 8-for-14 with three doubles, a home run and nine RBI in four contests vs. Penn. Garvey blasted a two-run home run in the sixth inning to propel Cornell to a 2-1 victory over Central Connecticut State. Garvey was dominant in Ivy League play, hitting .477 with eight doubles, five home runs and 30 RBI in 20 games. She was even better at Niemand*Robison Field, hitting .583 with seven doubles, four homers and 26 RBI in 15 games. She had a .583 on-base percentage and a .979 slugging percentage in home games and didn’t strike out in 48 at bats. Garvey was named Ivy League Player of the Week after helping Cornell to a sweep of Yale and Brown.

Sophomore (2008): Garvey was second on the team and 37th nationally with a season batting average of .405 while playing in 45 games. In the second game of the season, against Niagara, Garvey went five-for-five with a home run and four RBI, catapulting Cornell to an 11-10 victory. On the season, she was fourth on the team in RBI, with 28, and had seven games with multiple RBI. Garvey also had three separate six-game hitting streaks, and 13 multi-hit games. Playing first base, she committed only three errors while recording 292 putouts, tops on the team.

Freshman (2007): As a freshman, Garvey played in two games in Florida during the spring break trip. She totaled four put outs while playing first base against Kent State on March 24.

At Plymouth North High School
Garvey was a four-year varsity starter as a catcher earning league all-star honors for her last three seasons. She was named an all-scholastic athlete for the Brockton Enterprise and Patriot Ledger newspapers. Earning three letters in field hockey and four in basketball, she served as a captain for both sports during her senior year. A member of the National Honor Society, Garvey earned the Plymouth County District Attorney's Award for Outstanding Academic and Athletic Performance. In 2003 and 2004, she earned Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Academic Excellence Awards for field hockey, basketball, and softball.

Personal
Ashley Maria Garvey is the daughter of Jennifer Garvey-Mahoney, John Mahoney, Peter Krukiel, and Marlene Krukiel. She has two younger brothers. Majoring in biology, Garvey is enrolled in Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
