Brent Doane returned to the Cornell softball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant in August of 2013.

Doane previously spent two seasons as an assistant coach under Blood, helping the Big Red win its first Ivy League title in 1999 before becoming the head coach at Tompkins Cortland Community College. While at TC3, Doane built one of the top programs at the NJCAA level. In 11 seasons, his teams went 276-132 with a 2009 national title, a number of regional titles and top four national finishes four consecutive seasons (2009-12). He will be inducted into the TC3 Hall of Fame in the fall of 2013.

Doane and his wife, Cathy, reside in Candor with their children, Vanessa, Cameron and Cassie.
